I just have to tell y'all about my little secrets on making a little extra side cash while working out! I came across these apps a couple of years ago in total, and two out of three of them are the easiest way to make a little extra money if you're active.

I came across SweatCoin a few years ago when searching for ways to make money working out. I thought it was a silly concept but I knew someone had to have created it in this new world of social media and technology. Well, this app was one of the first ones I came across. It’s one of the easiest apps to win free stuff off of and even the potential to earn gift cards for Amazon and PayPal.

So the concept of this app is that it tracks your outside steps for you, whether you keep your phone on you at all times or if you have a tracking device like an Apple Watch or Fitbit. It converts your steps into what they call “SweatCoins” which can be used for different items/products they offer. You literally don’t have to do anything with this app other than make sure you leave it running in your background on your phone or it’ll lose some of your steps. It’s free to download. You can connect with friends and see each other's progress too!

How this works- 

For every 1,000 steps, they will pay you .95 in sweatcoins.

Achievement

Achievement is an app that pays you for healthy actions, such as walking, meditating, answering questions, and logging your meals. You earn $10 for every 10,000 points. You have the option to receive it via paypal or direct deposit, or you can donate to your favorite charity! This is another really simple app to keep in your background as you can track your progress by connecting to Apple Health for iPhone users. Most of the little surveys are simple and quick, too. Have a few minutes to spare? Pull up the app and knock out the questions they have up. That easy! I've only had this one for a little over a year and I've cashed out quite a few times since then.

DietBet

I like to use DietBet when I’m trying to cut for a particular event. DietBet is an app that allows you bet on yourself to lose weight. There’s two different challenges to choose from.

The first challenge is the Kickstarter challenge, which is the one I usually participate in. It’s a four week challenge and you have to lose 4% of your body weight in order to win your money back. The second one is called the Transformer challenge, which is a little longer than the first. It's a six-month challenge and the goal is to lose 10% of your body weight. If you don’t lose the weight, you won’t get it back. I like to use this app because I mean, who likes to lose money? I know I sure don’t so it’s also another motivational factor for me to keep pushing myself. You’re in a group with other participants to connect and talk with throughout the challenge. Bets range from $20-$50 per challenge. And guess what? You split the pot back with those who achieved the goal, PLUS the money from the members who didn't achieve their goal. Every time I've done a challenge, I've won back more than what I put into the pot.

Yes, you have to put in a little money upfront, BUT I feel as though it's far more than worth it. If you're losing weight and want that extra push or preparing for that wedding coming up, this is a great way to help stay motivated. Each challenge has anywhere from dozens of members to legit members in the thousands. All like minded individuals that are working on the same goal. I love it!
